| How it is possible that Adobe and Apple can act like this??? I am professional - so are they??? What I have to say to my clients, when I get 50 megapixels, or even 60 megapixels files to postproduce. " Excuse me, but my Brand-New-Photoshop is still 32bit application, and I can't work on yours files. Bring me something lighter... something let-me-say 12 megapixels... got it? right?" !!!! Please tell me what should I do? Should I sell my Mac Pro 16Gb, 6xRaid, and all apple software- and switch for some Windows running computer? I am absolutely wholesome ... http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/24/h...in-april-2009/ http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe...upport_FAQ.pdf |

| Re: Photoshop CS4 - great failure Do some math on 50 or 60 Mpx files... 64 Bit support has nothing to do with the maximum image dimensions or filesizes Photoshop can handle. Read this: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=kb401089 In my opinion, the whole 64 Bit issue is totally overrated. |

| Re: Photoshop CS4 - great failure hi, maybe i can provide some reasons... 1. the problem is on the apple side 2. eventually i believe there wil be a cs4 version for apple however, osx is old and leapard is new and when adobe does come out a cs4 version (and it will be quite awhile) it will most likely be for the leopard version (a opion)...!! 3. there has always been a issue on software for apple, apples requiremetn of controlling everything from programing to copyrights issues. and not working with programers untill late in the cycle.. really slows getting software out for apple... 4. now this link goes into some specific details why there isn't a apple PScs4 version soon and why it will be later...! http://www.pcworld.com/article/14411..._struggle.html Quote:

| Re: Photoshop CS4 - great failure No, no, no... mfischer - you are wrong. 64bit is more than you can imagine. hose who work with extremely large files may realize noticeably larger gains in performance, in some cases as dramatic as 10 times the previous speed. This is because 64-bit applications can address larger amounts of memory, (adobe) pixelzobie - not only adobe... why Lightroom can be a full 64bit application? I agree that CS3 was not written in cocoa, but why not the CS4??? jerryb- there will be no patch for CS4 to run it as a 64bit application No. 64-bit support will only be available in future full-version upgrades of Adobe software. | Re: Photoshop CS4 - great failure I reckon its Adobe completely who are responsible - forcing through sometimes quite marginal upgrades every two years or so. When they had 7 years to migrate Photoshop to Cocoa - its all about priorities. Apple have forced their hand, quite rightly. Im a mac user and Im not worried about the 64 bit issue one bit, Photoshop is incredibly stable and bloody fast . I'm always going to get my work done easier than a PC user because the keyboard is layed out properly and It hardly ever chokes on me. - I am going to hold off on upgrading every version now- because honestly the actual functional improvements, by this I mean things you couldn't to before are getting scarcer and scarcer |
