| | Big wrench!
Hang on, a use for the FTP is coming.
There won't be a regular ftp site, since leaving something like that open and permanent is dangerous (with all the hackers and pirates around).
But in the meantime you can play with ftp.adobe.com, ftp.microsoft.com, ftp.apple.com, and ftp.any-company-you-can-think-of.com. They usually allow username: anonymous and password: your email address. |

| | | FTP Tip! By now, everyone knows that I have about as much knowledge about computers as I do with brain surgery. When I downloaded the file everyone worked on, I wanted to open it in Photoshop. I received the message that Photoshop could not open the file because of an unexpected end of file was encountered. Not having any idea what this meant, I asked Doug, who suggested I download it again. When I started my FTP software, it asked me if I wanted to finish downloading the file in question. What? I thought I had done that already! But when I looked at the file size, the file on my computer was a little more than half the size of the one I wanted to download. So if you should run into something odd, check the file size to make sure you actually got the whole thing.

| | | Just clicking on the link won't get you in, since it's password protected. I'm not familiar with FTP Explorer, but it should have a button or menu item for "Connect to new site", in which case you'd copy in the information on site address, username, and password listed earlier in this thread.
Then click on "ok" or "connect" or whatever button they use. |

| | If I may add my 2 cents, hopefully this post is still active. Cute and WS did contain spyware, little additives to your computer that track your movements and habits. Cute had a particularly bad trojan horse that passedd the info on. I believe both are supposed to be spy free now, after the law got on to them, but please be careful. DL a free copy of AdAware at lavasoft.com. It's really good at locating and deleting many spy programs. Otherwise you have to manually go into your registry and that is not recommended. BTW your virus programs do not pick these things up since they mask themselves as regular files and do no harm to your system, just your privacy.
You can also go to spychecker.com to find out if a program you want or have is spy free.

| | | Hi Debbie,
All threads are active since there are no ends to any of them so feel free to pick up any old thread and respond. I have the Cute version but was unaware of the hidden spy ware. I will definately check and see if the one I got is free of any trojans. Thanks for the helpful info. Unless someone speaks up, who's to know.
