Thumbs up Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

Just out:

The beta of Topaz DeNoise is now available for download.

It's free for owners of Adjust (until further notice).

good stuff plugs...have you played anymore with lucis pro 6? Do you find it better reducing noise and halos created with lucis art or basically the same program with finer controls? I think I'd like the pro, but at $600 and in this economy that is quite steep.. the same upgrade cost to Adobe CS4 suite!

Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

The developer just confirmed to me that DeNoise will remain free for Adjust owners! That's great.

Skydog, my impression is that Lucis Pro is the same program with finer controls, plus the advantage of being a plug-in that supports 16 bit, etc.

Swampy, I understand a Mac version of DeNoise is coming soon. I use Parallels Desktop on my Macs for times such as this ;-). Your Mac easily supports it.

LOL.... P&P... Nothing Microsoft goes on my Mac. I've got Fusion and Win XP Pro, but I just can't bring myself to install them. :-)

The nice thing is, the Parallels Windows files reside in their own little folder in your user library. That's it. Easy to backup and replace should Windows go funny.

The free Apple Boot Camp option requires hard drive partitioning and reboots.

The Parallels option is how I do all my Windows plug-in screenshots and examples. Cool apps like Filter Forge would be impossible to run otherwise (unless I had a PC...).

Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

UPDATE:

DeNoise goes to $79.99 on the 24th (no longer free with Adjust), but DeNoise customers will get Adjust free. I am assuming the "plugsnpixels" coupon will save you 20% on DeNoise at that time.

Too bad, I wanted the DeNoise after using the Adjust. Would loved to have had it for free.

Ideally, yes, but the prices on all Topaz products are quite low compared to the others due to their generous introductory offers and coupon discounts.

Thumbs up Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

I just acquired DeNoise. Really didn't care that much about Adjust, partly because it's not my favourite type of processing, and partly because I already had PhotoWiz ContrastMaster (which I prefer for its greater array of controls); but it's a good deal to have it for free with DeNoise. And DeNoise is a whole other thing: for most images (and for most areas within each image) it does clearly outperform most other NR tools I know (such as Neat Image or Noiseware), especially for relatively uniformly-patterned textures and surfaces (and I always have Neat Image for instances where it might do better).

Thanks for all the info

Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

So, I have purchased Denoise. How do I get Adjust at no charge?

And on the subject of Plug-ins: I have just upgraded from CS3 to CS4. I thought that I remembered on past upgrades that I just copied the plug-ins from one directory to the other. That does not seem to work now and I have acquired a large number of Plug-ins since my last upgrade.

Many of the are not hard copy programs and downloading and searching out license keys can be a nightmare. I there an easier way? Not to mention the fear that they may have issues with CS4!

Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

It's really a great program.
Yet I don't like its UI. They should use the known parameters (Frequencies etc... Just like Noiseware).
They have problems with random textures such as human skin.

Re: Topaz DeNoise is out (free for Adjust owners)

Don, try downloading the demo of Adjust and seeing if it recognizes the presence of the DeNoise license. If not, let us know and we can get you help.

I haven't yet gotten all my plug-ins going in CS4 (just the ones I need as I go along), so I suspect you need to reinstall each of them and hope they all work... I think I initially tried just dragging them from CS3 to 4 and it didn't fly.

Drazick, Adjust 3 (a free upgrade when it's released) has a new GUI. You can download and try the beta (Windows). I understand Topaz Labs is updating at least one other of their plug-ins to the new look, so maybe DeNoise will be included in the overhaul.

The problem isn't just how beautiful the GUI is.
The problem is using non intuitive parameters.
They should use the same terms everybody uses.

BTW, Have you watched the Simplify video?
I liked the way the presenter showed the effect using the circles.
I would add those circles as a feature to demonstrate how the parameters work as a built it image next to the user image as part of the preview process.

Feel free to write the developer with suggestions – they are very open to it.
