Re: Pixel Bender arrives in Photoshop

They are probably working at the moment at trying to REPLACE some of the old filters, because they are being forced to to effectively rewrite the entire application for Cocoa (the mac osX native format). I have suspected that this means that some of the older filters with very difficult to deciper code, will most probably be dumped in the next version, on windows and mac.

I foresee, although I am hopefully wrong, for example, that we will end up losing Lighting Effects ray tracing capability (not available anywhere else in the application), as well as some of the older distortion filters.

They tested the water in this release by getting rid of Pattern Maker and Extract, and carefully choosing NOT to include them as optional extras on the installation CD.
