Doesn't anyone use Photoshop (CS3)?? Photoshop Elements is even a better alternative to PSP.

CS3 also----I started with Elements but I didn't really learn to use even the basic features of elements before I switched to CS3.

Red face Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

I use CS3 for day-to-day and Painter IX for my artwork. Very happy with both and they are not 100% interchangeable.

CS2, just ordered my CS4 upgrade. Can't wait!

Used CS3 at my last job, though.

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

Well, sure glad to see all of you who use CS3. I am puzzled as to why so many use PSP. It's like preferring TV dinners instead of gourmet cooking.

I would like to ask Danny why he passed on CS4? Has anyone upgraded to CS4, if so, how would you rate it?
Thanks for you responses

I do, I've been using it now for a couple of years. Started using Photoshop about 10 years ago but only seriously when I purchased CS3

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

I recently upgraded from CS2 to CS3 and I'm happy that I did. Being able to edit JPEGs in ACR, the Quick Selection Brush, and Smart Filters were good reasons to upgrade.

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

Hello everyone... I am new to this forum, so I thought I would reply to this message.
I do use CS3. I'm glad to see so many ppl on here who do as well. I'm working hard to teach this awesome software to myself, but it is no simple tool. So I have been ISO a fun forum of photoshoppers who hate ads as much as I do.

Finally, I have a friend who uses Elements and has asked me to show her how to do some scrapbooking tricks with it. I was wondering if anyone here has come across a chart or something similar, that would map common functions in CS3 to their corresponding Elements keys...

And BTW, just what IS the difference between them? Honestly, I have never laid eyes on Elements.

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

PS Elements is a striped down and simplified version of PS. As a professional who uses PS every day, I could never switch to Elements at work or home. For someone who wants to play around with some photos they took at their kids birthday party, it works great.

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

I use cs3, started about a year ago and became frustrated but I picked up a couple of books on learning work flow and love it.
Still have a longgggggggggggg way to go but I am learning, heck, I can't afford any other programs so this is it for me.

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

Oh no no no, Swampy, don't get me wrong! What I meant was that I saw you used CS3 AND a Mac MacPro Quad Xeon. Once having a MAC and now using a PC...you have the Best of both Worlds... a program and a machine.

No... I value you and love your tutorials. I've learned so much from you already and hope to in the future. Thank you for all you share with others!

Thank you Liasson. I'm glad you have learned from my videos. I wish I had time to do more of them. And yes... CS3 on a MacPro is great! :-)

Pixelzombie,

This may seem like a simple question, and I do apologize if you've already addressed it:
You can set up the workflow in CS4 to behave just like CS3, or CS, etc. I'm surprised you decided to switch back to CS3! Everything takes a little getting used to.
May I ask why you reverted? I myself am looking forward to CS4 VERY MUCH, as i hope it will fill the Painter/Photoshop gap a little bit. Granted the brushes won't be as good in CS4, but at least we got canvas rotating and a better UI for changing brushes!

Mr.Ryan

Re: Anyone using Photoshop CS3?

i realize it takes time to get used to something new, but i find that the change in the curves/eye dropper selection reduces productivity and efficiency..i know there is a plug in to change the keyboard commands for the channels but as far as i know the new curves and eye dropper behavior can't be changed...
