| Re: Photoshop Training I am not sure which of my 100+ books and DVDs to rank and list but I will start the replies with a few "pops immediately to mind" suggestions. 1. If you are interested in learning the advantages and pwer of working in LAB color space, the most authoratative and best source I think is still the book by Dan Margulis - LAB Color: The Canyon Conundrum and Other Adventures in the Most Powerful Colorspace 2. Photoshop Masking and Compositing by Katrin Eismann 3. Restoration and Retouching by Katrin Eismann The Eismann books are well rounded with sound techniques and solid principles. 4. Scott Kelby's 7 Point System for Adobe Photoshop. I would recommend this one for anyone who takes a lot of digital photographs and wants to post process them in Photoshop. This book is not about retouching but is about taking the output of your digital camera images and following a process to turn them into high quality photos worthy to be printed or displayed. | Re: Photoshop Training I think the Lynda.com training is excellent. You can watch the first several sections of each module for free to see if it's what you want. The monthly membership fee is very reasonable, and you can use it as much as you want. Very high quality on many, many topics. I find that I can't remember enough if I can't refer back to it, so I think I'm going to order at least one of the DVDs. Becky |

| Re: Photoshop Training I think Gry Garness CS3 and CS4 retouching ebooks are excellent. They have helped me go to the next level in Photoshop. Even though Gry’s ebook is on fashion retouching, there are techniques that can be used with any photographs. For image sharpening I recommend the book, Real World Image Sharpening by Bruce Fraser and Jeff Schewe. Also the Photoshop Killer Tips videos have tidbits of information that have been of real help with my Photoshop editing skills. Bill |
