Photoshop/ArtRage

Got my Bamboo Fun last night and a copy of ArtRage 2.5

I am a photoshop guy so i know nothing about ArtRage.
Can someone give me a simple explain of what is the different between ArtRage and Photoshop?

I have a play around ArtRage last night. all i feel is drawing things not editing.
Am i right on that? everything ArtRage can do, PS can do except its more complicated. Is that what ArtRage for? Drawing something from a blank paper.

Art Rage is a painting program. It is not intended to compete with PS. It emulates, somewhat, fundamental painting and drawing tools. I is quite effective in doing that although does a some limitations. However the people who are responsible for the program are working hard to build on what they have. Very good value.
They also have a forum. The best thing to do is play around with it.
In fact if you take a painters approach it is less complicated than PS. It does have blending modes. The intention is to give a direct painting experience c/w impasto effects - not for photo manipulation. Go to their website and their forums and gallery.

may be the price is cheap.
i can see why people like it now.
