Scanner Plugin?

Does anyone know of a good FREE scanner plugin for photoshop? I use an HP 5500c scanner and I need a plugin that will allow me to use the negative scanner. Thanx

Re: Scanner Plugin?

Free, no, but the standalone VueScan supports scanners old and new on current operating systems.

And I think you need a driver as opposed to a plug-in.

Re: Scanner Plugin?

Thank you, let me clarify. I have the afformentioned scanner and windows xp. My scanner works fine with MS Word and I can get scans into photoshop that way. When I try it using the same method (photoshop, import) and choose hp director (the software bundled with the scanner) I get errors. The scanner software has been buggy crap since I bought the scanner and finally quit altogather. BTW the main thing is that I need to be able to use the negative scanner and MS Word won't let me do that.

Re: Scanner Plugin?

I have to agree VUESCAN is the way to go - it can automatically open the image in Photoshop after scanning.

Re: Scanner Plugin?

It can also scan directly to a printer just like a photocopier! Plus OCR, etc.
