JPEG files corrupted by Adobe v6.0 I scanned approx 2000 35 mm slides using a Vupoint slide scanner. I used the same settings for every slide I edited every .Jpeg using Adobe Photoshop v6.0: Crop Image, Apply Image, select a percent to enhance picture Clone stamp - used it to clean up dust flecks etc. Save file as JPEG. I can view the thumbnails for every picture via windows explorer. I can open every picture in Adobe. Picture Frame - I tried to display the pictures in a digital picture frame. Some photos display properly but others pictures only show "Format unsupported". DVD - I created a DVD to play in a DVD player that can show jpegs as a slideshow. Some photos display properly but others pictures only show "Format unsupported". I opened one of the "bad" files in Photoshop and saved it as a Jpeg but with a different filename. It still won't display properly. I opened one of the bad files in Photoshop and saved it as a PNG file but with a different filename. Then I opened the .PNG file and saved it as a JPEG again. It still won't display properly. I can upload a good and bad JPEG if that's helpful How can I fix the corrupted JPEGs??

Re: JPEG files corrupted by Adobe v6.0 Yes, please attach one of the corrupted files. I have some tools that may be able to analyze the file. Regards, Murray

Re: JPEG files corrupted by Adobe v6.0 did you save in .jpg or .jpg2000? are these extremely large image sizes, by any chance? some viewers wont handle very large files. is your harddrive nearly full? a 'format unsupported' message seems to indicate that you've either saved them incorrectly or something is corrupting the save or its not a standard .jpg in some way, though i dont know how. you could also have a harddrive going bad and your read/write head is acting wonky at times. check for user error as best you can and if that doesnt handle it, check for mechanical error. for the time being, i'm moving this thread down to the software forum, though it may be a hardware error.

Re: JPEG files corrupted by Adobe v6.0 "Format unsupported".. did you save in "progressive jpg"? Most DVD player and Picture Frames donīt support this option.
