Arrow New masking plug-in from Topaz!

Today Topaz released a new plug-in for masking. As usual they're offering a time-limited deal on it.

See here for custom examples and more info.

Re: New masking plug-in from Topaz!

Saw this one on DPR's site. Looks like it's CS4 compatible only (I use CS2 occasionally; just too cheap to upgrade right now; when I get Win7 I might). No stand-a-lone version either which would make better sense for my type of workflow; oh well. People at DPR are happy with it so I guess Topaz has another winner here.

Wish I would have digged deeper Danny. Good news. I might give this one a whirl (if I can get over my cheapness that is; lol). Sort of want to see how Win7 will work w.r.t. CS2 before getting any PS only plugins. Still, the extraction capabilities for this plugin look awesome, and extraction is my big weakness for sure. Thanks for the additional info.

Re: New masking plug-in from Topaz!

Agreed; extraction is one of the most common and important image editing tasks, yet the least fun. ReMask is actually almost effortless to use and works fast. Other tools I already have take forever to process the mask.

The most work you need to do in ReMask is brushing on an outline around the subject's edges (a task common to these extraction tools). Hair can be accomplished using a slightly larger brush – no need to stroke every hair.

ReMask differs from the pack by keeping you inside Photoshop, rather than forcing you to exit and reenter the PS workspace as you create and refine the mask.

I've posted some of my own examples here and on the main page of my site.
