Hi I'm new here & it's all just blowing me away

Can anyone help me with finding a set of black borders as an action, as I would like to add a border to most of my images that upload, double black with thin grey line inside the black frame

Many thanks in advance

Hello, Alan...

Welcome to RetouchPRO. I am not aware of any existing actions to do this, but I am pretty handy at action writing, so I might be able to help you out.

Is your intent to run the action on one image at a time, or would you prefer to apply it in batch -- to a folder of images?

If you could upload a couple example images you have already digitally framed (manually) to your liking, that would help a lot, too. (Use Photoshop's File > Save for Web to easily size below the 100kb per image maximum.)

Re: Actions, brushes, swatches, styles, textures etc.

Hi Danny

Many thanks for your reply, the type of border I am looking for is similar to one around the photo attached ( with I did not take but have copied to show you ).

I would like it only for one image at a time upright & view, & c/w grey lines not white, also how has the photographer shaded area's on his photo, I am a complete novice when it comes to photoshop sorry

Thanks

Alan

OK... The example image helped, thanks.

Click my name above and send me an e-mail through the forum e-mail dialog, if you would please. I will reply with the .atn I wrote attached and you can try it. When we finish working through modifications via e-mail, I will post the final result here at RP.

Don't worry about being a novice. Everyone starts out where you are now.

Hello, zzsylvia:

Welcome to RetouchPRO.

The .atn file you downloaded must be loaded (copied) from your hard disk into Photoshop. Here are a couple of tutorials on actions that will help get you started:

http://www.imphotography.com/downloa...allactions.htm
IM Photography.com - Loading and Saving actions

http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/tutorials.htm
Sonia Coleman. Good for beginners. Scroll down to the Photoshop section. This is a 3-part series.

http://www.informit.com/articles/art...6&redir=1&rl=1
Tim Plumber. “Take advantage of PS Actions”

Let me know if you need further assistance.

~Danny~
