Re: Option of corel knockout in photoshop Parat 25, there are about 100 ways to do that in Photoshop. The closest tool in Photoshop to Corel Knockout is the Extract Filter but it is not the most effective way to extract a subject depending on the background. Regards, Murray

Re: Option of corel knockout in photoshop If you're talking about putting a photo, logo, etc, into a doc with the photo background not blocking a background color, type or something on the doc, you use the pen tool to make a path around the subject: Path options: Save path, clipping path, save as eps file. Sometimes you can use the magic wand or masking layer to make the selection, inverse if needed, then: Make work path, Save path, clipping path, save as eps.

Re: Option of corel knockout in photoshop Yes, there are zillion ways to it in PS, some of them quite laborious, this mostly depends on image contrast. PSSC3 and up have a very good selection tool that should do the job most of the time. This was discussed extensively in the past here, I remember a thread about difficult selections. Here is a link to a search "mask AND extraction" http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/sea...earchid=813511 Quite a few third party plugins apart from Corel http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/pho...-plug-ins.html Pavel
