Photoshop: Adobe Releases CS5 Update 12.01

Adobe has just released an update to CS5 that addresses a number of issues that have been encountered since release in April. A description can be found here

It's about time. I would have preferred to wait while Adobe pushed back the release date than having to deal with the crash issues. Even with frequent saves, I've lost an enormous amount of time restoring after crashes. On the other hand, kudos to Adobe for acknowledging and fixing the problem.

Janet, I think Adobe did it right with this release. They included tools to capture program crashes and thus rec'd the the most precise feedback in the shortest time which has allowed them to roll out an update earlier than they have with any other past version release. As for delaying intro until they caught more of the problems - well, there is only so much they can test in a development lab environment. Most of the real bug s don't get encountered until the program gets released to the mass user community.
