Photoshop: Photoshop Type Tool Problem!?!

The flashing cursor of my Type Tool is huge. I think it is 143.33 pts in length despite the face my font size is set at 12. Take a look at the attached image. You can see my font is set at 12, but another size is simultanously selected at the top of the list which is 143.33. How do I turn this off and why is this happening.

Yes. I had to restore my system from a Time Machine back-up.

Ok, I can't tell what the problem is. But when I have a problem like this one in Ps this is what I do. This is a copy/paste of one of my old posts.

When you have a problem like this in Photoshop, the best thing you can do is re-initiate Photoshop to it's default settings. To do this, hold control + alt + shift (command +option+shift on a Mac) and click the Photoshop icon. You will get a window asking if you want to delete the settings file, click YES. Photoshop will return to the default settings, and you won't lose the old settings, but you will need to re-do your preferences. This is something we need to do from time to time if you use Ps constantly, at least that is my case.
