Looking for Vaseline type effect as an action!

Hi all,
Does anyone know of an action or similar which will produce an effect like smearing vaseline on a lense filter?
You can see some images here http://www.evapolak.com/people.html which have been done using real vaseline but I am looking for a software version. Have experimented with some PS blurs but not the same. Looking to make similar impressionistic type images.

Thanks for your assistance.

Just buy a cheap camera. The cheaper, the better.

This just looks like Motion Blur to me. I wouldn't agree that it was achieved with vaseline. Smearing jelly all over the lens doesn't achieve the precise vertical blurring on these images, nor the light trails which indicate some sort of camera motion too.

Re: Looking for Vaseline type effect as an action!

On some images there might be a few manual strokes applied with the Smudge tool and the use of Underpainting and/or Gaussian Blur filters.

An action could be recorded to apply a succession of effects that could be individually varied. The challenge would be to come up with a combination/recipe of steps that yielded favorable/desirable results. The "right recipe" would be a matter of taste, up to each person.

The attached example illustrates a couple different motion blur/sharpen/underpainting/gaussian blue filter combinations applied to the original (left pane).

There are indeed some interesting photos in the collection you posted. Thanks for asking.

Yeah; the last time I played with underpainting was when I had PS5.5 (you all already know I'm a GIMP guy). lol

Underpainting is a pretty cool tool as I recall, but can't remember if it was actually part of another filter or not. Too lazy to investigate it right now (i.e., wait 3 minutes to launch CS2; lol).
