AVG 2011 Anti-Virus

Has anyone else had problems with upgrading to AVG 2011 free anti-virus? The new AVG won't let you download new virus definitions and removing the program from your computer is a nightmare. I just changed to Avast free. Too bad I liked AVG but they really dropped the ball on this upgrade.

No problem with it here. It updates automatically and will update manually as well...

The only problem we have had with the upgrade is the updating (at least twice a day and needing a reboot after most of them ) we have had to switch to manual updating

Rats. I was intending to buy it this week. Think I'll go with something else now. Maybe McAfee?

I've never heard of Sophos. Is it just for businesses or can individuals use it?

Re: AVG 2011 Anti-Virus

IMO Avast is a much better free anti virus then AVG. Works much better and it also updates itself on a daily basis... But a real solution for viruses, buy a Mac. :P

Re: AVG 2011 Anti-Virus

I used iAntiVirus but I got a feeling it does not work correctly but I have read this is a good software. But today I have read an article about Sophos and I decided to try it. As I wrote it found two viruses for windows in my files. iAntivirus did not ...

I have read that they offer free version for Mac for home use. And they will not change it in the future.
