Photoshop: jpegs to pat files

I've several jpeg thumbnails that I'd like to use as background texture. For the life of me I just cannot remember (if I ever knew) how to turn these into PhotoShop PAT files. Can anyone enlighten this pilgrim? Thanks!

Veronica, try selecting it (or part of it) and do Edit>Define Pattern

Oh thank you Murray. It WORKS! I remember doing that before but some of these brain cells aren't what they used to be!
