Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit I am trying to find some way of viewing thumbnails of CS5 psd files on my system which is Windows 7 64 bit. I am fairly sure that this functionality was available on previous versions of Windows (32bit) or PS but I cannot find anything that will work - have tried a couple of dll's and registry hacks to no avail. This is one of those mildly frustrating things that I would like to correct if at all possible - either that or I will have to give my files more meaningful names

Re: Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit I know nothing about these solutions, only came across them with a quick google search. My guess is that there must be a performance hit, but they do have trial versions: http://www.ardfry.com/psd-codec/ http://mysticcoder.net/mysticthumbs.html (seems to be the most popular) http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/

Re: Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit Tony, the psicon.dll file that was included in earlier versions of PS was removed by Adobe. There is a hack whereby you can download and install it in the Adobe Shell. The process usually proceeds without a hitch but it is recommended that you backup your system just in case. The instructions can be found here: http://www.techyard.net/enable-thumb...dows-explorer/ Regards, Murray

Re: Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit Doug, thanks for the links. Will look into these - but being a cheapskate I was hoping that I would find a way for free Murray thanks. The psicon.dll and reg hack was one method I tried - without success. However I am going to try again (maybe I missed something!) following the suggestions with your link. Regards Tony

Re: Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit - Solved! Tried the pscion.dll hack again without success. I can only assume that this will not work on 64bit version. So went for Doug's suggestion and downloaded trial of MysticThumbs. This worked immediately without reboot Thanks again for your help guys

Re: Viewing thumbnails Windows 7 64bit You can use irfanview to view thumbnails. It has a thing that works very like bridge with renaming etc. I have it on my 32bit windows 7 laptop and on my 64bit XP machine.
