GIMP help please

I hope there are a few GIMP users here that can help me. I just made the switch from Mac to a 15 inch Acer laptop and downloaded GIMP. The installation was smooth and the application seems to run fast. The problem is that the two panels that hold the toolbox and levels etc. are so long that they extend below the bottom the screen. I can find no way to shorten them.

There seem to be controls at the bottom of the windows and I can't reach them.

It appears that whoever worked on the code had a monster screen and kept these windows as big as possible and then the applications retained those window placements when it was packed.

Does anyone know of a solution?

Thanks, Margaret

Re: GIMP help please

You should be able to left-click (index finger) drag on any corner of your control Window to resize Margaret. Also, for a cool site with a lot of good folks more then willing to help with GIMP, please check out the link below (I'm an active member their too but my handle is lylejk).

Re: GIMP help please

Thanks Lyle. I was trying to shorten the windows from the bottom. I didn't realize I could do it from the top.

I joined the GIMPchat group too and you'll likely get tired of my questions before long.

Margaret

If you asked them, then, they weren't stupid to you.

Re: GIMP help please

Never MACed; never will Plugs. lol

Well, I did only for a short time used MAC 9.2 when I was part owner of an offset printing business. Not a bad OS, but I still like my 3 button mouse and can't stand using keyboard shortcuts (though I still do occasionally).
