Guys,
I plan to fix the routine and release probably under a different name. The present program works internally in 8 bits whereas ImageJ in 32 bit floating point.
My problem now is programming for windows. I need to try to take my memory back 10 years. Do you know of someone who can compile c++ using Visual Studio 2015? I have code ready to test.
I'm also on other side of the world. You got me on 3 o'clock bathroom run.

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

Really? Do you know the limitation if I use it as plugin?

TIA

Yes but it is really a bug. Person who changed to work on 64 bit windows doesn't know anything about Fourier Transforms. Microsoft c++ compiler has changed or I would have fixed it already. There is no kludge to get around it.

Limit said to be 4800 x4800 pixels https://www.3d4x.ch/?c=16,35
Discussion in this thread suggests that limits may be different but no supporting evidence.

Sorry can offer no insight on the coding/compiling aspects

What does it mean to use ImageJ?

Is there any video or tutorial showing what you mean?

Tony,
The 4800x4800 pixel limit was for the x32 2008 version. When x64 2010 was made from that version, it was a programming change but didn't take into account that the fft software usage also needed changing. Thanks for the link to the original.

Ron,
I am not at all sure that any changes other than to accomodate 64 bit made and that referenced later in the thread by the OP.

FWIW:

From what I understood the OP made some changes to the original Alex Chirikov's FFT including the ability to run in Windows 64 bit environment and process 16 bit images.

It was also claimed that there was no limit on image size other than that imposed by available RAM

The first sign that something not right about image size came from Der W noting the red channel completely white with images whose total pixels exceeded 1,300,000.

Quite a few posts noting the white channel issue - I have seen it myself, but unable to quantify and reproduce error

Then the OP stated that no changes made to the original filter workings other than enabled to run in 64 bit environment.

Chain then hosted the files fearing they may get lost and AFAIK they are still available

Post #72 Chain
Tested on 8-bit document:
* 6000x6000 works!
* 4300x2700 doesn't work!

The truth is clearly not a specific max width/heigth or a total number of pixels, but something more complex.
I tried again with larger file and got a strange solarised image. Attached a version with 5896 x 5820 pixels showing the strange result and the same image reduced to 1474 x 1455 pixels with no issues.

In short I came to the conclusion that the implementation was somewhat flaky and not really worth pursuing due to other version availability

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

I have the source code for it in very beginning and the one on the site. It has changes most would make for x32 to x64. Screwed up fft..
I'll get it fixed.

We'll see when I'm done. I know there will be a lot people disappointed with their previous results.

I'm going to be asking for people to test the code when I'm ready. Someone might gather a group to compare their tests while I handle the software issues.

Cheers,
RONC
