Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

Also need coordinator to get some synthetic images put together. I can't do programming and handle the test materials. High school students with interest can do the work.

Depends on how fast you guys want a fix and security it is a right one.

FFT news:
I plan to put a link here tomorrow where you will be able to find an alpha version of the fft rgb plug in for photoshop.

This version handles x64 only, 3 channel RGB only, and 8,16,and 32 bit images. There is no inverse transform but if your tests are positive, I will finish it to same level for your testing.

I have no plans for an x32 version, but will a A channel to RGB. Because there is so much redundant code between the forward and the inverse algorithms, I plan to combine the two into one plug in and add a couple options too.

Is the above sufficient for your needs? Silence means that you say yes.

Cheers,
RONC

Really quiet except someone in in the background grumbling that they want Photoshop and an fft plugin for their Commodore Vic x08.

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

I have placed a zip file at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j3ol85ifgz...RGBrc.zip?dl=0 Please view the readme.txt file first. To download the file, right click on the link and choose save link.

The zip contains a new alpha version of the FFT_RGB.8bf plugin named FFT_RGBrc.8bf. A copy of the FFTW routine which is same as the earlier version.

Please help each other get files tested and I will compile the results for my further actions.

I appreciate your help.

Did you download plug in? Needs a few tests on the users end.

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

Only had time to do a very quick test so far.

The plugin appears to work perfectly, both for 8 and 16-bit.
Tested with CC2017 on Windows 10.

I do like that the filter doesn't require you to have a flattened image, but I'm unsure what will happen if you run it on an layer that has a size that is smaller than the canvas and then afterwards use the IFFT filter.

---

Note, if you have cropped the image without deleting the cropped pixels the filter runs on the whole content of the layer, including the "cropped" areas outside of the canvas. This is consistent with other filters though, and to be expected, so i don't consider it a problem. It still works, and you can "reveal all" to see the entire layer.

Talking Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

Thanks for the quick response and test.

FT and IFT MUST have the same number and location or you will just have a mess. I was aware of the canvas vs image size. I see this as a benefit for using the FT. If you look at some of the images with dot type printing, you will notice that the dots sit on a grid with even spacing in x and y but the dimensions of the image differ like 4x6. In looking at the forward FT the dot's star spacing will have been changed to the the image size ratio which makes it harder to work with. You can increase the canvas to be square and the stars will be on a square pattern. The distance between points in xy will inverse distance in kxky.

Did you try running on images that failed before? I ran tests up to 15000 px per side and variable brightness with good results throughout the test. Both 8 and 16 bit look good on 8gb laptop - but slow. I don't totally understand Adobe 32 bit so having a scaling problem.

I'm really close with the IFT for tests.

You have probably noticed that I have dropped fast from the title. It is Fourier Transform whether using the fast or slow one.

How might we get more people to test the plugin? I want to place it in the Git open source system for prosperity and be done with it.

Cheers,

RONC Am I a legend yet? Sir RONC?
