For Mac try processing using the application imageJ.
So there is no OSX version? If I get the time I'll look into what it would take to port this. It doesn't look like a lot of code, but I would have to look at its dependencies.

Just when I thought that it was all too hard on a Mac: http://www.djjoofa.com/download It looks promising. You need to watch the YouTube video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUqsm9_iCbQ

Don't want this excellent plugin to disappear off the net!

Here are two animated gifs showing how useful it can be:

Hey, thanks so much. I'm new to this site, so I guess I overlooked the original link. Regardless, looks like a community I'll like being a part of. Take care and thanks again...

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

I'm struggling to get this to work.

I originally came across the original plugin, and the instructions for that plugin, indicated a size limitation, and used the green channel for the pattern reduction.

Because I was working with very high rez images I was looking for an alternative or newer version plugin that works with newer 64 bit Photoshops, and I found your updated version.

This new version seems to be using the red channel (that's where my stars are showing up)

But when I run the InverseFFT, most of the light portions of the image are now black, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I just did an experiment. I ran the image through FFT, then Immediately through the inverse FFT and the light sections come out black, so something is not working right.

Just a few thoughts
Are the pixel dimensions within the limits of this particular FFT filter?

Prior to running FFT you have flattened the image so that yo have only one layer and this is labelled Bacground?

You are painting out the outer stars on the red channel with black and leaving the central star untouched?

Prior to running IFFT you are selecting the composite RGB channel ?

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

There's conflicting, or unverified information as to the pixel limits for this version (I'm using the most recent 64 bit version as far as I can tell). Even when I reduce the pixels I get the same strange Dark Image.

Yes I'm working from a Flattened image.

Yes, I'm painting out stars in the red channel and leaving the center untouched.

Yes, prior to running ifft, I'm selecting the RGB composite.

As I mentioned in my edit. Even if I make no changes to any channels and run ifft, I'm getting a darkened image, so there's some sort of math error happening.

I even Cropped it to a square, and reduced it to 4800*4800 which I understand to be the limit of the older version. And it does the same.

Re: Here is FFT for 64 bit photoshop

I have seen odd results eg dark/solarised images which in many cases attributable to pixel limitations and I do not think much has changed to A Chirokovs original.

Could you post a section of the image you are trying to correct which clearly displays the pattern?

If all else fails why not try ImageJ which does not seem to have the same limits
