Photoshop Elements 2 announced

Details here

Looks to me like a step backwards. Basically all wizards and auto stuff. At least with version 1 it looked enough like Photoshop so you could migrate later on once you outgrew it.

3 meg pdf with full details here

Looks like Adobe is getting serious about cutting into the market of applications like Ulead Photoimpact, that pack gobs of user-friendly (compared to native Photoshop) functionality into a low-priced offering.

A new image browser? A "red eye" brush? (so-called) Easier to use Help system? What's next? A tool bar with customizable buttons? Now, that would be something.

Interesting progression: Photoshop LE, Elements 1.0 and now 2.0.

Thanks for posting, Doug. Interesting marketing package.
