G'mic

Thougtht I created a thread here but haven't so remedying that now. G'MIC's much more then just another GIMP filter. It actually can be run externally via scripts for command line and it does and can work with 16-bit images (unlike the GIMP filter which, like GIMP, will only work on 8-bit images. Also, it can work with 3D objects as well bitmaps. It's an extremely powerful tool and I literally use the GIMP version of this filter on nearly all edits that I do (both artistic as well as photo retouching). Someone really needs to port this gem for PS imo. It's that big of deal. It's Open Source so free to use within that framework but still, I see no reason why there can not be a G'MIC plugin for PS. Just passing the info on to those that may peruse this thread. The latest gem added to the G'MIC arsenal is a Fractilus preset called Rodilius (Rod is a huge FilterForge guy and figured out how to coax Filterforge to create this look; he recently collaborated with David (Mr. G'MIC himself) and David coded that into the Rodilius preset. See this thread for details). Just one of 100s of things G'MIC can do.

Re: G'mic

Hey Craig; below's a link to Rod's Fracdillyisious thread that he started at GIMPChat; he may have already posted the preset to FilterForge; not sure. Read throught the whole thread since he kept adding enhancements that maybe you understand (I don't know FilterForge lingo).

Re: G'mic

I posted to Rod's Fracdillyisious thread as well as PMed him Craig, but haven't heard from him yet. He may have already posted the preset at the Filter Forge forum, but I'm not sure.
