Standalone vs. Plug-In Hi, just want to ask. Do you use PS Plug-Ins or do you prefer standalone applications? Filip

Re: Standalone vs. Plug-In Hi krooly and welcome to the forums. In general, I like integrated or Plug-In functionality unless the standalone software offers functionality that is really needed and not offered in the Plug-In. As an example, LaserSoft Imaging offers scanning software. For the version I puchased in the past, the scanning Plug-In for Photoshop had far less functionality than what was offered with the stand alone scanning software. All IMHO of course.

Re: Standalone vs. Plug-In In those cases where I have a choice of the two options for the same software, I tend to use the plug-in (otherwise you have to hunt down the standalone app, and import its results into Photoshop). However, standalone is not all bad, and if you're doing only one thing, might be the better way to go.
