DAP 64-bit is coming soon.

Oscar's not added it to the main site yet, but will soon. The results simply jaw dropping to say the least. Maybe the example (see my result below) is not quite there yet, but I am going to enjoy playing with this one. Very realistic results. Click here for a thread Oscar recently started and also here for the thread that started this conversation in the first place. Another winner for sure.

That's hot! Always wanted to composite a vehicle into a 'painted' landscape. This seems a great tool for trying that.

Some final cleanup work before the release but a little birdy told me that it will be releaed sometime next week. For those who don't have a 64-bit OS, I feel sorry for you. lol

Is this version only for 64 bit systems?

If so Oscar is going to leave a lot of loyal customers out of the loop. Can you say loss of business?

Yes; from scratch designed for 64-bit OS Steve. Lucky that I so happen to be running one.

That's really too bad for we who are still running 32 bit XP as I am.

Would like to see more examples of what it does with people. Most programs will do a pretty good job with landscapes etc.

Thanks for the info.

Have dabbled, but not posted any people portraits yet Steve. I do like the more realistic texture renderings that the new DAP gives over the old. Still, I may post a sample at the art forum later.

I'll check them out. That always tells me more about a program than pics with no people.

Re: DAP 64-bit is coming soon.

Here are my results from playing with DAP 64 over the weekend, with another larger example attached (plus a detail crop). Wonderful!

Although this is Windows-only app I ran it on an iMac just fine using Parallels Desktop.

Re: DAP 64-bit is coming soon.

Looks good Pix. Definitely many (too many to count) improvements over 32-bit version. Since I still consider DAP more tool then do all, the best feature that I like is the new PSD export since it now includes both with and without textured layers which I can do additional blending tricks in GIMP (or you is PS of course), my crutch.

What does it look like with people?

Landscapes and the like look good, but when you try a new program on people, the results are, many times, less than satisfactory.

The two images attached were both done exactly the same on the same program. With a lot of additional work using other programs I might be satisfied with the girl's pic. The old house, as far as I am concerned, looks pretty good as is.

I, as most of you already know, work with people more than landscapes etc. So I would really like to see people when someone posts examples of a new program. However even so, I would have to upgrade to Windows 7 to be able to use this upgrade, so guess it's a moot point anyway.
