How to Create Dashed Line/Square Brush Tip

I am attempting to draw a square dashed line. However I cannot get the brush tip to be square. I have found a few tutorials online that indicate how to create a square tip. But I am having no luck.
I am using CS5.

what about using pencil with a square tip instead of paint brush? then set your spacing to 300%, and shape dynamics, angle jitter, control = direction.

edit: I see you don't know how to make a square tip -
make a new bitmap document 100px x 100px, make a square, fill with black, then edit/define brush preset...

Adjust spacing and size to taste.
