Re: is there a scipt for cs3 and cs5 to auto save This is a really good idea, but... I believe I read somewhere a few years back the short answer to this is, "No," otherwise someone would have developed this functionality a long time ago. Something about Photoshop's architecture and/or how scripting works within Photoshop. Maybe Adobe will build this into a future version of Photoshop. We can only hope.

Re: is there a scipt for cs3 and cs5 to auto save I have seen quite a few scripted functions for this yet have never tried them out. Here is a link to a paid version of doing AutoSave with Photoshop. I have not reviewed the details of this function so cannot give anymore info or a recommendation. I found it posted in the Adobe Photoshop forums: http://www.electriciris.com/psdautosaver.html

Re: is there a scipt for cs3 and cs5 to auto save I have a feeling that this function is included in Premiere Pro but not in standalone ( I may be wrong though!). Do you really want an autosave (what about just pressing Ctrl+S?) as I can see a couple of points against it. 1. PSD files can get very large and when Autosave engages it may hold up progress 2. What if you are in the middle of a complex selection or some other activity, will autosave interrupt/negate the work you are doing?

Re: is there a scipt for cs3 and cs5 to auto save Seems there may be an answer Appsistant - Autosave works by displaying a popup alert that reminds the user to save the changes and has a direct save link so the designer cannot just close the alert and continue to work. You can set the interval of the popup alerts to fit your preferences. Details http://www.webdesignshock.com/autosave-photoshop/ Download http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchang...extid=2163022#

Re: is there a scipt for cs3 and cs5 to auto save Good catch, John. Looks promising. Good value for the reasonable asking price. Is it fair to say plugins can tap into Photoshop functionality not available to mere scripts, hence different offerings by platform and flavor of Windows OS? Perhaps plugins can operate in the background allowing (what appears to be) concurrent user operation within Photoshop where a script has complete control of PS while running, precluding doing anything else until the script is finished? Note: Different versions for 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Windows. Last edited by DannyRaphael; 12-29-2011 at 08:27 AM.
