Question is there a script to fit crop ?

Hi

i'm running photoshop cs3 normal edition (not extended) under xp 32bit

i would like to know if there is a script to fit crop

i mean for example to straighten an image
i use the ruler tool , rotates canvas , arbitrary and i straight the photo

now i want to crop , but it's exhausting to manually find the photo edge, in short fit to crop , or fit the crop

i 'm looking for a script that fit the crop , in short to crop the straighten image

is there one?

the script crop and straighten photos doesn't work great

i like the straighten tool in cs5

cheers
thanks

See if this helps...With the ruler tool, make a line for level the hit the straighten button on the top options.

Re: is there a script to fit crop ?

Dunno if this helps or not... Tis not a script but what I do...

First, I make sure the crop tool is set @ the dimensions of the original picture... IE: 6.453 X8.64 @ 300 P/I Res.. or whatever the original was...
Then I increase the CANVAS size by a couple inches all around
Then using the ruler tool.... straighten
Then use the crop tool to crop as I want the picture... sometimes keeping portions of the added border to be filled in by the clone or other tools later.... (adding the canvas gives me more actual picture to consider in the crop...

In the script you'll have to replace the channel names
Quote:
for(ch in list = ["Red", "Green", "Blue"])
with the proper channel names of your Photoshop version/language.

Re: is there a script to fit crop ?

Hi Mantra
As I understand it you would like the same functionality as the "Straighten" functionality in CS5 which straighten and crops as one operation yet have it in CS3.

The scripts mentioned in the other posts may do the job yet most scripts don't always get it right. Here is a semi-automated approach that may make it a bit easier (unless I did not understand what you were trying to do)

Original:

Use Ruler tool to straighten:
rotated.jpg

- Select Entire Image
- Select > Transform Selection
- with both Shift + Opt selected (Shift + Alt for PCs) drag one of the corners until all 4 corners reside within the image. Then accept selection transformation:
Transform-Selection.jpg
- Image > Crop:

Final.jpg

This puts you in better control. Hope this helps
