Western Australia

After visiting one of this photographer's galleries.......

http://www.christianfletcher.com.au/...framephot.html

last week and asking where his prints and canvases were printed I was, at last, delighted to discover a source finally in Western Australia. A PDF price list is available upon request.

We do fine art giclee printing! :-)

Hello everyone!

Just found this forum site and LOVE what I see!

We are a small, family-owned business in Massachusetts. What we lack in size we make up in quality, dedication and service. Being experienced (and working) digital photographers (fully understanding the costs and frustrations that can arise with dealing with printing services), we started investing in the highest quality equipment on which to print our digital images. When other artists and photographers began commenting on the exceptional quality of our prints, we decided to offer fine art giclee printing services and have been stunned at the response. (I guess alot of you have experienced the same frustrations??)

Anyways, you can read up on us and our printing services on our website (click on the link at the top right for the printing services):

http://milkayphoto.home.comcast.net/

In a nutshell, we use a fully color calibrated system and print using RIP software on Epson wide-format inkjet printers (can print 43" wide by virtually any length). The Ultrachrome pigmented inks are rated 80-100 years longevity. We stock all kinds of media from photo papers to fine art papers to PremierArt Water Resistant Canvas.

We STILL get excited seeing new work come out of the printer and love working one-on-one with artists. So much talent out there!

I hope this post isn't inappropriate. This thread asked where one could find fine art printing services so I thought it wouldn't hurt to post.

Take care -

Tracy Milkay

A feature I like about this site is the ability to upload your image and see how it will look in the frame/matte BEFORE you buy.

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, Stretching

Welcome and thanks fir the link, Fuzquia...

A while back I got very favorable results with a "print on canvas" order from www.mpix.com. They have numerous offerings including canvas stretched on a frame. I have had them do numerous print orders (including black and white and a 30"x24" print, which turned out great) and highly recommend their service.

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, St

I recently had a photo printed on canvas 20x30 by ezprints (www.ezprints.com). The quality of the print was excellent, but I had definite problems with quality control. The canvas was creased at reception. They willingly reprinted the canvas upon reception of the defective original. The second print delivered was someone elses...thus we had to go for print three. Needless to say I made no money on this endeavor and ended up selling at cost. Hopefully this is experience was not the norm since I did like the end result.

Nice results + "not-so-good service" = Not the way to do business.

Thanks for the information on this one.

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, St

I am a newbie here and have liked what I have seen so far.

I would like to use this opportunity to tell you of my canvas printing company, which is based in Western Australia. Although, I supply prints all over Australia.
As we are a small family company, we pride ourselves in our quality products at reasonable prices.
The company was started in 2006 after emigrating from the UK, however, we have many years experience in printing on to canvas, as we had a successful company in the UK. We are still building the website and have just started adding local photographers to the site. If you are interested in selling your images as canvas prints within Australia, don't hesitate to contact me.

Please feel free to check out my site at:

I will take this opportunoty to note the very fovorable results I have gotten at www.mpix.com with their gallery wrap products. I've had photos and "paintings" done and they turn out great.

I highly recommend their services -- any of them.

I would give FinerWorks a look.

I have always been pleased with the results and believe they were one of the first to start offering it as an online service.

Looks like a great site. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to look into their "multi-panel" offerings.

Welcome to the RP forums. Keep the tips (like this one) coming!

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, St

I purchased a large oil painting from an art exhibition. It’s a red and yellow moth with a grey shadow figure of a man in a hood behind it. The painting looks old. Any ideas who or what this painting could be about? Also I want to renew this painting, I mean I want to give it a new look. How can I do that? Are there any helpful tips for this? If you know any, plz let me know. Thanks a lot.

Can anyone recommend a place to order good quality stationery cards. I printed some of my photos last year on cards for Christmas presents...everyone liked the gift, but I was a little disappointed in the quality of the paper and the photo of the printshop I used.

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, St

Skydog, I tried something different last Christmas. I laid out two 5 x 7 images back to back adjacent to each other so that together they spanned 10 x 7 inches. I had them printed at a Costco photo lab as glossy and some matte 8 x10 photos on usual Fuji Crystal Archive photo stock. I then cropped and folded in half for high quality cards with photos on front and back of the card that fit the standard envelops made for 5 x 7 cards. On some cards I hand wrote everything inside, on others I ran thru my ink jet to print some fancy text on the inside. They went over really well.
Regards, Murray

Re: Printing, Frame, Framing, Canvas, Mounting, St

We can do cards on photographic paper and Cards on fine art paper but we can not print on the inside of the card, for cards with imprinting on the inside I recommend a company called White House print lab. They do an excellent job. You may need to set up an account with them but they really do a great job. They also have a paper that is a pearlesence paper that is really pretty. You can also check with Mpix.com for there press printing.

You can create your own cards at Zazzle.com. You can customize them any way you want them.
