Janet

NOW we're talking! A photo that a woman can enjoy visually while working on Photoshop. Thank you Janet, and thanks to your friend Troy for his generosity.

P.S., I like your taste in friends!

Troy

Ro/Ra, We HAVE to notice -- it's too well done NOT to notice!

Neve -- Lovely! You really brought out his eyes!

Legacy -- Delightful! Soft and yet it retains his character.

Tried another version...

C.J, Ro, Neve, Elle, good job everyone!
Mine was in painter 8, clone tool, loose brush strokes, then surface texture added.
Thanks Janet, enjoyed doing this for your good-looking friend!

Rather than comment on each picture, I'm just going to say, "I'm glad ya'll like Troy's picture. I'm sure he will be pleased to see the results."

Here is mine.

One more attempt in ps7 only...
Dodge, burn tools for highlights/shadows, more contrast with selective color and level adjs, one more layer of added color, low opac, overlay blend, smudge tool for the painted look, some additional blends (invert, softlight etc)filter-other-custom to bring out texture, also filter-add texture-canvas.

I especially liked your Painter interpretation, Judy. You inspire me once again.

- - - - - -

I used multiple Impressionist-rendered layers (see this thread for brush modification info and general process), then over to Painter for some Blender > Grainy Blender, Artists Oils > Blender Bristle, Artists > Captured Bristle action.

Back to Photoshop for sharpening; back to Painter for more blending.

Re: Creative Portraits: A photo for the ladies

I'm posting this wearing a wig and using a higher pitched voice just to meet the criteria for posting (the things we do for arts sake).
Hope thats OK

What criteria? All I asked was that the picture not be posted on any other sites.

Good stuff Peter and Pavel. I'm glad you brought this thread back to life.

Janet, they're both referring to the thread title -- "A Photo for the Ladies"

Peter & Pavel -- you were very brave to enter the "ladies" thread, and the quality of your renditions proves (along with ByRo/ByRa's earlier submission), that men can concentrate on art rather than merely the appeal of a subject.

Uh, Peter, you can take off your wig now... Peter? .....Oh, never mind.

Well, you guys inspired me to work on Troy again -- I could either practice on Scott Deardorff's Beagle (very cute) or Troy -- I'll start with Troy...

Falsetto is very "in" IF you can sing -- perhaps you should hang onto the voice until your "American Idol" audition is over.

Re: Creative Portraits: A photo for the ladies

You guys are too funny. Now that I've had my chuckle for the day (and it did brighten my day), I can say in all honesty that I'm liking the revival of this thread and the work that is being done.

Kudos to all. And again thank you for your humor.

Janet
