Hope I've uploaded this right. Whew! I did. Just doing that is progress.

I lightened the original in PSPX first, smoothed edges, adjusted contrast, colored edges & added custom watercolor brushstrokes in PSP 8.

How did I miss this intriguing face? Well, no matter now. I've had my fun with it.

It was wonderful to see all of the creativity and styles. Keep 'em comin' folks.
Good job all.

Janet

So many talented artists here, just browsing through everyone's work the last week or so has inspired me. I'm a beginner with big dreams, lol.
It's fun to interact with those who have such varied skills and styles. I'm frequently inspired myself.

A question/suggestion: the young, thin beauties are great, but I also love to work on other "types" as well. Maybe soon?
Good question and thanks for asking.

Posting images for creative interpretation can be done by anyone. As long as they fall into the general category of "good taste" and are not offensive, the sky's the limit.

If you have pics of your own or have access to images that would be suitable, please feel free to start a few threads. A variety of images to work on helps develop skills.

I like what you've done on this one. Glad to have another PSP person on board!

Cheers,

~Danny~

Hi Danny & thanks for the kind words! I love PSP/Corel. Just got the new Corel Painter IX & really loving it. Also just got the new PSP X, but having a harder time warming up to it - probably 'cause I got my PSP 8 so fine-tuned to my own style.

I don't have any alternative-type images of my own (don't really know how to go about getting any - don't want to just start snapping away at innocent bystanders) & I worry about copyright infringement getting any off the net. Can you recommend any copyright-free sites?

I actually have very few people or places pics as I'm playing around with Miksang style photography which I can't seem to translate well into retouching or portraits, although they're lovely in their own original form. I think, lol.

Janet, I like your interpretation a lot - seems to have more of an oil paint feel - I struggle with oils & can't seem to get the hang of making them look smooth like yours. They always look clumpy...grrr. But I'll hit on the magical settings numbers one day, I'm sure.
