| | | Contest From watching everyone else's work, I have the feeling I interpreted the "whatever tickles your artistic and creative fancy" a little too loosely...

Generally speaking "anything goes" is perfectly O.K. For this particular thread, though, creative expression needs to be balanced with "Keep in mind, however, you're trying to catch the eye of Ali's mother, not your college art teacher!" for whatever that's worth.

Regarding the uploaded image, I'll upload another if you think my first one was not appropriate. |

| | | Ali is soooo cute I love yours Christine, how do you get that effect in painter? Just got painter... inspired by all the beautiful examples on retouchpro. This is my first attempt. My mom, who paints with oils, said you can't mess up, just you just paint over any mistakes... don't think it works that way in multimedia form.

I'm still playing.

| | | Welcome Wizard... You just made it (4 min before the cutoff).
This ends the competition for this one... It will probably be a 2-3 days until Ali's mother is able to review the entries and make a decision.
There are some wonderful interpretations. She will have a difficult time deciding which one she likes best.
Thanks to everyone who participated.

| | | Gallery of Ali pictures All entries can be seen (easily) here: http://www.pbase.com/dannyraphael/al...chpro&page=all
Ali's mother is reviewing them now (during her break at work) and I expect she will have her selection made by end of day. She commented, "Wow... This is going to be hard. There are so many really good ones."
With so many good ones from which to choose, it's a nice problem to have.
Stay tuned...
