Re: Creative Portraits: Autumn Girl

I had fun doing this. I ended up with 8 layers with various blending modes and filters. I also used masks on two of the layers that I created using Filter/Render/Clouds. This was use to randomly apply the effect to the image.

No real method to my madness just played around until I got something that I liked.

Peter...Nice one...did you use the cutout filter...its a very nice effect!

Morley.....Like this one...its different from all the others...amazing how many ways to change a photo!!!

JimJam...I am back at last with a few alterations to my pic...trying to get more detail on the nose and face...came up with these two using Niks color solarize...again!!!

Patricia thank you.

No not this time I've been experimenting with other filters lately.
First I did my Ultra smoothing thingy stuff then duped then ran the Sketch/Torn edges filter on the dupe then lowered the opacity to bring some of the colour through to the top, then merged down and D&B in some areas for slight colour difference.

Peter

Did two colors already; decided to just ink it up this time. Working on a new sketch flow (still experimenting with it; very convoluted but easy to do if you have GIMP. Still requires way too much cleanup too) that I hope you all like.

Re: Creative Portraits: Autumn Girl

Someone at GIMPChat linked this cool tut that inspired me to do a few of these today (in my own lazy way; still time consuming unfortunately).
