I'm really getting hooked on Deep Paint !

This was an experiment in using different settings on different layers, then transporting back to PS.

This is wonderful, ByRo. You used DP for the skin and everything? We're away for the weekend, but as soon as I get home, I'm going to play some more in DP!

No matter which programs I use, I always end up back at PS for the final tweaking.

I'd forgotten about this thread until I was in a Staples store and saw this picture on the box for computer software (don't remember what it was though). I've been wanting to try out a sort of stained glass effect and this picture seemed perfect for it.

I think I ended up a bit too painterly and with too much filter going on; but I liked it; so I posted it.

Enjoy a fall picture in the spring.

janet,

what a fascinating idea. well done i would love to see the 'leading' a bit more grey and emphasized just a bit more to really pull off the effect. on the other hand, it's gorgeous as is

oh wait, you said 'stained glass' not tiffany leaded glass.... never mind

Craig, I tried the leading as leading (gray). It did not suit this picture, therefore, I tried a couple of other colors before I settled with this one. Thanks for the comments. They are appreciated.

Hi Catherine

I stopped making chocolates, joined weight watchers, and now i make soaps!

Well i had so many molds, so now i make soaps and sell them.

But yes i still think of my truffles, i keep thinking i got the ingredients why not make some, then i think of weight watchers and think i best not!

Thanks i was trying for dramatic!

Autumn Mourning

It's rather abstract but please do critique.

Hopefully there'll be a link to my yahoo pictures so you can see it full scale.

The thumbnail came out better than the yahoo album. Goes to show I shouldn't obsess over the little things. Although it does keep me from getting bored.

A little obsessing, the fretting over important details, is what makes your artwork unique! Not a problem.

While the overall effect is quite stunning, I think I'd like it better without the duplicated main image. (Nice job offsetting the images, though.)

The background/offset eyes (bottom left) are fabulous. To me that's what makes this one stand out.

Thank you. I usually think that less is more but sometimes get carried away.

The offset green image is meant to represent the "passing of the green", from summer to autumn. Autumn sheds a tear as Summer fades away. Maybe it's Winter looking on, waiting for her turn.

dottie,

i like those faded eyes also. you also gave me a thought here, mentioning the seasons. why not a montage with the four seasons? do the leaves in each season's dressings. might be interesting

Things are great, Elle I have to watch those treats myself, but it sure was a great splurge. Funny, but I always think everyone looks like their avatars, and you don't look like you need to go to Weight Watchers!

Digidottie, a great beginning. We'll look forward to your series of seasons. She may feel a draft in winter!

Another reverse painting.

Well I did do some selective smudging too, but over 90% was filters alone. Very little erasing (reverse painting) really was involved. Still experimenting with Toadies' Metalwork filter for the transition gradients.

For the curious, I used djroil24 for the Impressionist preset.
