Danny, thanks. My rendition began with Matisse, followed by djroil24 for the face and shirt and a second djroil24 modified for the background.

Thanks for your kind words, Lyle. It's a new look inspired by those creative HP commercials that have been airing of late.

To simplify the work I did indeed use an action. Once a selection has been created ("marching ants" visible), the action performs a "layer via cut" command (shift + ctrl + J), applies a prerecorded layer style and moves the new layer to the top of the layer stack. This is another example of necessity (or laziness in my case) being the mother of invention.

You people are amazing. I can’t wait to get started on my Photostory project.

Ikroll: Great portrait. I especially like Trevor’s face. I think it elicits his personality better than the original photo.

Danny: How creative! Your sepia tone version reminds me of a young Jesse Ventura And you know, here in Minnesota we don’t like to talk about our former governor. (Lately he’s been sporting a pirate look ala Johnny Dep and Pirates of the Caribbean.) Your collage is outstanding.

Kiska: Trevor will love this one; premature, receding hairline and all.

Alan: You have outdone yourself. What a wonderful piece of art! Definitely a wall hanger.

Sylvia: Wow, absolutely love it! And the T-Man will also.

Thanks to all of you who have participated so far. Here are two of my own. The first done in Deep Paint and the second in Painter IX. Both with finishing touches in Photoshop.

Well done, Peter. My bet is Trevor needs new furniture, too (lol)!

This one was rendered using one of the Snap Art Comics presets (tweaked a little).
