Creative Portraits: Trevor

This is my Grandson, Trevor. I want to take all of your creations, put them into Photostory, with music, and present it to him as a gift. Have at him and let your creative juices flow.

I'll let you know which ones are his favorites.

Oil pastel on Canvas.

Just providing a link (over a meg). Sorry for the roughness, but the bigger the final size, the longer it takes to render. Had to make some compromises, but I hope you like it anyway Photomaster.

Great idea, PM... Trevor's lucky to have a grandpa as talented and visionary as as you. It was fun playing around with this one. Thanks for the opportunity.

I'll probably do some more. This was fun!

This challenge off to flying start. Lkroll, as usual a very creative and provocative rendition, and Danny we know you're having fun because your work shows a lot of pizzazz!

You amaze me again Alan. This looks very painted. Assuming djroil24# , which other two (or 3 if I guessed wrong)?

- - - - - -

Mine... #1 Just some adjustment layer work on the BW. #2 lots of selections with an inner shadow, drop shadow, stroke layer style applied to each of many layers. Then to some layers I applied various a adjustment layers to vary the effects, e.g., posterize, hue/sat (colorize), hue/sat (sat = -100), threshold, levels. After creating the text, I applied bevel/pillow emboss, drop shadow layer style.

Thanks for the comment Al; I like your three styles Impressionist too.

Danny, that photo montage version really works for me; did you use an action to create this?

Danny, thanks. My rendition began with Matisse, followed by djroil24 for the face and shirt and a second djroil24 modified for the background.

Thanks for your kind words, Lyle. It's a new look inspired by those creative HP commercials that have been airing of late.

To simplify the work I did indeed use an action. Once a selection has been created ("marching ants" visible), the action performs a "layer via cut" command (shift + ctrl + J), applies a prerecorded layer style and moves the new layer to the top of the layer stack. This is another example of necessity (or laziness in my case) being the mother of invention.

You people are amazing. I can’t wait to get started on my Photostory project.

Ikroll: Great portrait. I especially like Trevor’s face. I think it elicits his personality better than the original photo.

Danny: How creative! Your sepia tone version reminds me of a young Jesse Ventura And you know, here in Minnesota we don’t like to talk about our former governor. (Lately he’s been sporting a pirate look ala Johnny Dep and Pirates of the Caribbean.) Your collage is outstanding.

Kiska: Trevor will love this one; premature, receding hairline and all.

Alan: You have outdone yourself. What a wonderful piece of art! Definitely a wall hanger.

Sylvia: Wow, absolutely love it! And the T-Man will also.

Thanks to all of you who have participated so far. Here are two of my own. The first done in Deep Paint and the second in Painter IX. Both with finishing touches in Photoshop.
