| | | Creative Portraits: A face with character This older gentleman kindly gave me permission to use his picture on this forum. I think the face shows a lot of character even though there is considerable glare from his glasses.
He is a woodworker and makes wonderful wooden spoons and spatulas for Dutch oven cooks. I have a few of his pieces; and they are treasured additions to my kitchen.
Have fun artifying his picture.

| | | Vector enhanced wc. Thanks for the play Janet. I did some smudging (very little) too, but mainly I used Sharp Control, Autotrace (converted to bitmap in GIMP of course) and some Hue/Sat adjustments. |

| | | Palms, I don't think it is "messy" at all. I think it quite bold and refreshing. I like the way the lines and colors work together. It all fits.

| | | Nice pic, Janet, and nice work by everybody so far.
I did pre-and-post work in CS2 (Crop & Draganizer action before, texture, d&b after), artifying in Artweaver.
Had to compress the livin' daylights outa the poor thing to get it under 100k.

| | Danny pull up a chair its a bit of a long story
On the nikoncafe forum there is a post about using the pOpArTISt action (mike finns) but going back in the history to get a certain effect. while looking at this i stumbled on doing this effect
which is
run the action
go to history and select the last one called pop and smudge/smear the hard lines
open new layer and use the history brush which brings the art layer through
by doing this on a new layer you can erase any lines that you dont want
and that is it basically of course you can vary opacity's do other effects etc
on this one i applied graphic pen (not sure which layer though now ) It is really easy again some photo's work better than others
