Inspired by Steve's closeup crop, I took another stab at this one. Based on AKVIS Sketch to which Virtual Painter > Oils was applied for the loose look.

Thats no mess up I like it as well as all the others.
Yeah the hair is the main feature, shame I didn't highlight it more my self.

The site I found it on has loads of similar pics - great stuff to practice on.

Thanks Danny.

Ok..see if I can remember the steps.

Grayscale image & crop. Angled strokes, adjusted midtones to eliminate unwantwed lines, painted out any remaining lines to get close to effect I was after, ran either sharpen or USM and applied mask to edges.
