Ok..see if I can remember the steps.
Grayscale image & crop. Angled strokes, adjusted midtones to eliminate unwantwed lines, painted out any remaining lines to get close to effect I was after, ran either sharpen or USM and applied mask to edges.

to me, the hair is a strong element, but not the strongest. to me, it's that sultry, pouty, slightly antagonistic expression and face. reminds me a lot of a young Sharon Stone.

I agree with you on the other post as well great work, but where are the symbols for his name ? i cant find them, would it be a different set of characters ?

I don't think you did such a good job messing the picture up.  A very neat scetch. So, I went for "messed up" rendering.
