You realize Therese is going to "have a go" at you when she sees that you have posted a "baby" picture of her.

Nevertheless here is one way to mess with a good photo.

Arty Therese

Don't ask. I have no idea, but it was fun experimenting with layer blend modes and adjustment layers!

Some really nice stuff on here all ready, I am in awe of the pastel look bbuttry has perfected, very nice.
Hiya Pat:---here's a couple of your little cutie, the second one is just some blending and adjustment layers on top of the first smudge.(forgot how much I enjoyed smudging, been playing with Painter too much ) Hope you and your stepdaughter like them....John

Re: Creative Portraits: Therese age 8!

patricia, if you have a current photo of therese with roughly the same pose, i'll do you a morph of younger to older. best if the poses are fairly similar and the file size is fairly similar, but i can fudge a bit, so doesnt have to be exact.

Re: Creative Portraits: Therese age 8!

Wow you guys have been really busy...with great results...I know Therese will be over the moon with all the different interpretations of her photo...

Dan...Nice one...I love the eyes...
Brad...Fabulous...Pastel Perfection...It glows!
John...Nice to see you back...Two lovely ones..great smudging and your second one i like...did you do it from a tute?
Craig...Only got school pics of that sort of size...as Therese doesnt live at home now and its hard to catch her...they leave home really young in Sweden! I will sort something and thanks the last one you did of her was great!!!
Palms...Your high key is great i love the intensity of the eyes...
Studio 58...Welcome to RetouchPro...Looking forward to your artwork!!!!

I have done Therese in watercolor in Photoshop CS2, put some hair back in and then Flaming Pears Aetherize plugin...framed with an action...
Also i thought i would send you my attempt at sketching the photo...hand done...no computer...i dont think it looks like Therese but a girl anyway....first attempt at sketching not long after the photo was taken!!!

Patricia....

Re: Creative Portraits: Therese age 8!

Hiya Pat, it's nice to be back! . Didn't go far tho', just on the wrong shift. Thanks for the comments, and no tutorial involved I just duped the layer several times and fiddled with blending options until I found something I liked, then ran curves and hue sat layers and played with the layer order. (I couldn't get the same effect again!)
Oh by the way you can sketch much better than me aswell, nice one.
..........John
