| | | Re: Alexandra.... The cracked paint was easy. I have to add that I say that with tongue in cheek. I tried everything and finally hit upon a tutorial (don't ask me where, I can't remember) that made it into one of the AHA moments.
1. New layer
2. Filter>Render>Clouds
3. Filter>Render>Difference Clouds. Repeated until you find one you like.
4. Filter>Pixelate>Crystalize. The larger you set the amount, the further your cracks will be spaced apart.
5. Filter>Stylize>Find Edges
6. Change layer mode to Multiply
That's it.
Thanks for the canvas tip. I'll remember it for the future but might not follow that rule depending upon my mood. Ain't I a ?

Janet | Janet,
Thank you for the walk throuh. I tried to use and actual cracked paint layer as a texture for my pic, not to happy with the result.
I like your rendition as is, did not mean that as a critique, since you mention Monna Lisa I felt I may add my 5 cents.

Patricia..... | My last one on this thread I promise. I like this rendition before the addition of the Diffuse :Anisotropic filter. And yes I have been busy,I think I went through 4 to 5 hundred thousand variations to get something I liked. |

Soft glow on the face makes it .... soo... (struggling to find the word) different... anyway, it's terrific.

| | | Re: Alexandra.... A short time back someone asked about a video Dragan tutorial that had been posted on the net. The video has since gone poof and is no longer available. I detest having to skip back and forth between a project and a video tutorial. So, what I usually do is carefully write down the steps so that I can follow the techniques without watching.
If anyone is interested. I posted a zip file of the word document with the detailed steps in the tutorial. Below is the link to Alexandra, which I Draganized. http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/att...lex-dragan.jpg

Here is the link to the zip file. See page 2: http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/non...ragan+tutorial
