Alexandra....

Alexandra was 15 when this photo was taken, she will be 21 at the weekend.
Second to the eldest. I have full permission to send her photos to the forum, sadly the other two said NO!

Looking forward to your art work, whether it will be filter magic or magic paint strokes!!!

Pretty Young Lady! Made it a bit more formal for an oil painting style with different hair-do and background.

Very nice photo!

Re: Alexandra....

Steve;

I like what you've done so far in Painter. Can you give some specifics as far as what brushes you used and your technique? Do you use the quick clone feature? I like the texture and watercolor look.

Thanks

Re: Alexandra....

This was a combination of Gertrudis Pro 3.0 and some Buzz thrown in.

Have tried to get into programs like Painter, Art Rage, Art Weaver, and several others, but my patience runs out long before I get anything useable.

I always tell everyone that I have to leave the brush and palette type of work to my brother who is the artist in the family. And he teaches art history at a local college.

I do thank you for the comments on the "Unfinished Portrait." A great image to work on. Studio sittings are always a great start when doing photo art.

Care to tell us what software etc you use in your work? Your posting of the girl is about as good as it gets. And far from anything I can reach as only a hobbyist. But it's always fun discovering new ways to work with images.

Steve

Re: Alexandra....

patricia, lovely young woman. just how many daughters do you have? and perhaps the fine works done here will change the minds of the two that said no

and is it just me or does a beautiful woman always inspire more and better pieces

palms, i like the first, but i love the 2nd. very nicely done

nancyj, your modesty is unjustified. i'd love if you posted more here. very lovely rendition

interesting technique, palms. you're getting more comfortable with ahb, arent you

bbuttry, now that's a different look. very clever and nicely done.

steve, on the first one, interesting feathering strokes and love the hair. on the 2nd, i like this one better. very nice.

alex, nice, on both.

peter, nice soft touch there.

Brad super work, and i second Steve's request what software etc do you use ? ( it is ok will ask for the trade secrets later )

Steve very nice i like both of them ( and not a flower in sight )

Alex nice work i do admit when i looked at the first thumbnail i was a bit dubious but when enlarged it is great i really really like it ( lesson to us all dont look at just the thumbnails)

Palms, my apologies, I used your HK as a starting point. Don't think I improved it.

Re: Alexandra....

Craig, thanks.
I borrowed Palms HK & played with it: increased contrast, aniso, added darkened crosshatch layer to add texture in some spots, background, added color. The color was supposed to be sepia, but after JPEG compression I ended up with blotches of red and grey.

The credit goes to Palms.

Couple more tries, Painter
