Re: Another Nice Gal

peter,

thanks for that explanation. i borrowed on it (and subsequently nancyj's tutorial) and altered things just a bit to get mine. it's pretty much the same thing but without any smudging, just digital camera noise removal, hue/sat layer, and nancyj's high pass solution. makes for a nice, soft, better highlighted image. i like it.

Steve very different, do I detect heavy LuscisArt stuff there?
Margret very good simplification there, cutout filter used I think or maybe poster edges?

Peter

Peter at a guess i would say yes it is a duotone, it is the satin steel preset in virtual photographer

That's some of it with some auto photo fix and saturation adjustment. Then I just kept playing with various things like Buzz to take away some harshness until I got the look I was relatively satisfied with.

And like everyone else, I am amazed at what you came up with. But I see it's a bit of work too.

Steve

I think this is just a great picture, I just had to have another go at it.

Re: Another Nice Gal

Here is my try.

I am new to the forum and have been working on photoshop for about 6 months and would like suggestions and critiques on my "trys".

thanks

Re: Another Nice Gal

Keiser, welcome to the forum.
It's hard to give critiques on something that is supposed to be art representation, in other word anything goes.
I like your high key, I would probably darkened shadows, but that could be a calibration thing.
