Creative portraits: Alisa

This little cutey visited with her grandmother recently. She's got grandma wrapped around her little finger!

Enjoy...

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

Just trying to get over my hatred for smudging (my poor mouse finger; ). Did some ACE enhancements along with CherylH's Fingerpaint1 preset (with mods) to start things off). Also used AAA Fotofix filter to enhance the image at the end.

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

Lyle, if you're smudging with the mouse I don't blame you for hating it. I shudder to think about it.

But I really like what you've been doing with it, so I guess your suffering is worthwhile.

Thanks for the pic Danny.
I did so much with this, and threw most of it away, I can't remember all the steps.

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

i did a pre-treatment in psp and then ran that over to filter forge and used my 'waxy' filter on it. this was somewhat inspired by lqqker's work above. i then brought it back to psp and merged with my original pre-treatment image.

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

Here are three versions. I did the first two in Painter IX and Photoshop using a variety of brushes and filters. The hair was done in PS with the pencil by sampling various colors. The sketch version was done using Little Ink Pot's "Sketcher" filter in Photoshop.

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

WOW! Just joined tonight and can't go to bed because of all the amazing threads! The wonderfully different artistic intrepretations are exciting.

Yuccaview -- I love the feel and would like to try this feel with some of my daughter's pics. Any good tutorials you can point me to? I have Painter IX.5 -- loaded it but not used yet ;-)

Thanks
Barbara

Looking forward to haunting these forums!

Check out the ones under Featured Tips here: http://apps.corel.com/newsletter/pai.../02/index.html

This one, too:

Being able to 'clone' and 'blend' are good skills to get your arms around.

Hope these get you started.

Re: Creative portraits: Alisa

Thanks, Danny...

I remember a couple years ago when I first joined RTP, I was so envious of those who could achieve a soft chalk or watercolor look. My thanks to all those who are so proficient at it and passed hints and tips along. It's been an amazing journey. My blisters and aches have dissapated through the learning process and now I can enjoy the scenery along the way.
