OB very nice extraction there on the retouch. But you are risking the wrath of 'SHE' who must not be named if you don't at least try a smudge one day.

Look forward to seeing that one, glasses can be tricky.

I can't tell you who 'SHE' is as I value my skin intact, plus as I say 'SHE' cannot be named

No not shirking, getting ready to go to a sad event tomorrow, I lost my sister at the weekend, and needed a bit of a diversion so visited here.

So sorry for your loss. I haven't yet experienced the loss of my sister, but it would be horrible.

Here's my attempt i found it quite challenging, but enjoyable, still not sure on a couple of things , like the background and the skin tones
but what unusual eye colouring ?

Re: Smudge - maybe??

I hope 'SHE' isn't lurking here.. Tis my sincere desire to escape her wrath!! (for I have tried the elusive Smudge and failed!)

I was thinking about expanding beyond your traditional portrait and/or restoration, retouching and colorizing... So I thought about when I first started using Photoshop, back when most of my work looked like this!

Hmmm... this almost looks like my smudge attempt.. Maybe I have NOT come along as far as I had hoped!!

Actually, this is just my feeble attempt at trying to make Peter Smile..

I have visited a web site tonight that you all might find interesting. He turns a colored image into a 1940's era Marlene Deitrich type shot, giving full step by step details.

It is located at this URL

I have not been able to sleep! When I finally do shut my eyes for a few seconds I have this weird dream (I hope it is a dream) that 'SHE' is after me Smudging away at all my prominent features!

Soooo, I figured I had better submit this and try to appease the Omnipresent Smudge Goddess 'SHE' (who must not be named) ...

Besides, My mommy told me NEVER to use the F word!

The F.. Words got to me.
So after a lot of fumbling, finicky, fearless floundering, following fairly frequent fiddling freestyle, forming fun fascinating fodder for feasible familiarization, feigning fancy fabrication, I fuddled forward to finish a fast flowing, futile, funky smudge.

Beside all that, I was just trying to escape the wrath of the person who shall remain un-named!

But, Thanks for the kind comments!

Re: Smudge - maybe??

I know this is a late entry, but I thought I'd give it a shot. This is the first smudge painting of a person I have attempted. I did a lot of research here and on the Internet before I attempted anything.
