Newbie Granddaughter

Here is an image of one of my granddaughters. It was taken by her mom, my daughter. I have her permission to post it here so that we can see what all of you might come up with. I am anxious to see what happens.

Here is my first post, using one of Swampy's tutorials plus a little extra. Not sure about it. Maybe the next one will be better.

Oil on canvas.

Very nice soft wash look Gunner. Decided to go the texture route with mine.

Which new Artsy look is that? I went to his site and am not able to discern which one you are referring to.

Re: Granddaughter

I used 'thredge plug-in' in Serif Photo Plus X2 to get the line edges -

used gertrudis ps for some conversion to art

then used 'Corel Painter Essentials 3' to bring to add a few more art features

used 'BlackMagic Pro Edition' to color images

used 'Fix Any Color ver 1.3' to adjust colors

used 'Xara Xtreme 4' to merge and blend above images

used 'Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4' to complete image with vignette and a few more touch-ups

Re: Granddaughter

Good one , azure. A lot of apps. used for the finished image. Like the possibilities. But one question remains in my mind, how the heck do you keep track of all the apps and steps that you go thru, to be able to enter them here? HUH?

Re: Granddaughter

When joined I read the forum and saw that that was the main reason for posting and that some had gotten away from that procedure and was going to make sure they started back telling what steps were used. So I made a few quick notes as I went along. Or you would be right I probably would not have remembered what I used or in what order I used. I did forget and downloaded the incorrect file the first time. I did try a couple of things that I was not satisfied with and discarded those.

I also wanted to add a little more detail to face and lips as well as soften up the image so I did a little more combining of the original with the one I had said was the final vignette using 'Adobe Photo Shop Elements 4'. I opened both the original and my final pic and copied the upper portion of the original and then used it as a saturation layer with lowered opacity and erased out layer as needed along with my final pic. Also I used the same copy I used in the saturation layer but this time as a normal layer with lowered opacity to bring out some facial detail and smoothed the skin with slight blur and lightened overall image.

In all it gives a different look. Just a matter of preference. So here is the real final ( i believe ).

*****
I am glad I found this site been looking and reading. Very good ideas, info and some beautiful work here. Great going all of you. Wonderful site!!

Re: Granddaughter

Late to the party, but nice pic to work with...
1. BW conversion (best of G, B channels)
2. rendered by PencilPixels-OC-Vol-1 - Stylized Poster Art action

Thanks for the play, G.
