im a newby and just learning photoshop cs myself and the only uninspired thing I can think of is to whiten her teeth just a little. It is a lovely photo.

Re: what would you do ?

Here is my take.

I would have liked a bit more contrast between her hair and the background but for a quick work, this will have to do.

Thanks! I will try something and post it. It was a photo I just took not really planned like the rest but something about the eyes I really like. What are good programs? I have a few but not really done anything with them. Back soon.

Re: what would you do ?

I tried also. I still want to add a few "fly-away" hairs to her but I can't seem to locate my brush that has the fine hairs. I wish I could put her freckles back on also ... I may try it again later.

If anyone knows where I can get some fine hair brushes, please let me know. I will be searching for some in the meantime.

Re: what would you do ?

Yikes! When I went back to the phot, I realized I had lopped off part of her chin when messing with the hair. I repaired it now.

Re: what would you do ?

Last one ... I just added a little texture. You'll need to view full size or it looks odd. Then again, you may think it looks odd anyways.

Your daughter is very pretty. This is the way I would do it. As you can see, there are many wonderful ways to handle pictures in Photoshop.

  • Use High-pass on the original - adjusting the radius so that you can see the freckles.
  • Apply this as a layer over your un-freckled version, setting blending to overlay (or hard-light).
  • Mask all, then paint the mask white to recover the freckles.
