painter x help please

hi everyone i got a quick question a couple of months back i was visiting the wppi photography event and there was a lady selling a dvd ( I don't remember the name but it was something about 3/4 paintings ) and she show me VERY quickly a feature on painter x that allows the program to take a picture and make an automatic painting all by itself, she even tweak how many passes the program will do.

Bottom line is this feature on the painter x program or did she have a plug in that did this, if is available please let me know how to do this so i can try it thanks in advance.

First bring your picture into Painter:
1) File>Open
2) File>Quick Clone
3) Canvas> Unclick Tracing paper
4) Window> click Show auto painting
5) Look at top right to be sure your brush is a cloner (should be there already)
6) Hit the Green run button on the auto painting dialog
7) Hit red button to stop

This will get you going...you can change brushes to change the look.

Thanks for the reply and the links, one more question is there a configuration or setting on painter x that allows me to do the paintings in autopainting with different levels of details ( for example a landscape that doesn't need a lot of fine details compare to a portrait with does ).

Or is this just related to the brush that is use only, once again thanks.

you can change the opacity of the brush..also the pressure ...like everything it all comes to experimentation and practice.
