Here we go then. 1 dupe image twice 2 on top layer make a line drawing, (I've been using the sketch action Palms posted), set blend to multiply 3 click on layer below and add a blank layer and fill with white, it should look like the sketch again, 4 add a mask to this layer. 5 click on top layer and add an adjustment layer channel mixer set to monochrome. (adjust to taste later) 6 choose a brush - I made my own, a series of diagonal lines, I adjusted the dynamics for scatter, separation, size etc. 7 Paint on the mask you created on the blank layer with black or dark grey. (I've been starting with the grey then change to black later.) 8 when I'm satisfied I click on the top layer and merge all to a new layer and set blend to overlay, then either use USM or Bas relief to bring out moer of the stroke details. 9 for this one I added a gradient map adjustment layer to finish it off. 10 oh yes adjust the channel mixer AL to taste. I think that was all besides a few minor tweaks here and there If you check THIS it's an example of the brush etc. Hope it helps. Peter |

| Re: Blond Hunk !! Guilty! the subject line caught me lol Some really great sketch effects done! I've been working on a chalky/pastelly method and it worked nice with this image. been playing with grey gradients, highpass and impressionist. Last edited by Northernshadow; 02-03-2009 at 07:36 AM. | Re: Blond Hunk !! I tried an Ink and Watercolor with this one. This was done just with native Photoshop filters. I have tried to do a B&W sketch without luck. Peter S and Palms, I would sure like to learn the technique you two use to achieve your B&W sketches. |

If you check out post #9 in this thread you'll get a rough idea of what I've done. Plus if you check other posts of mine there a little more scattered about. Please don't ask me to write a tute, I get writers block at the thought of it. Peter |

| Re: Blond Hunk !! this one reminded me of a finish i've seen painters do at times, where they take a fine brush once the painting is essentially done, and simply brush the entire, half dry painting. |

| Re: Blond Hunk !! very nice, sylvia recently, just outside Marseilles, France, a cave was found that had once been inhabited by ancient peoples. inside were found the remains of various animals, shells, seeds and nut shells. on the walls of the cave were found some of the oldest cave paintings ever found. these were done with blood, blackberries, currents and some other materials still being identified. who the woman in the painting is is completely unknown, but a rather strange mark was found near the painting, an "RP" in large, clear letters. scientists are baffled! |
