Is Backround photosho or real painting

I come across this photo. I do like the effect, but it does look very much like the background is a real painting. Or am i mistaken?

Hi Evelyn, looks like the main subject had been cut out (masked out) and the BG was artified...filter-artistic-dry brush; impressionist plug-in; Art history brush...not sure what, though. Could also be that the bride was pasted in this BG...

if there is a bigger link maybe able to be a bit more specific

some of his work i find a bit kitsch, but others i do like.

I assume it is digital editing as well. But he does have a very nice technique that's for sure. I did try to imitate it but did not get this "reality" look. Mine always in the end look photo shopped LOL. But then i am only a Beginner at oil painting effect.

I believe that these backgrounds or very very near to these backgrounds can be achieved in Painter, which is as far as i can say as i have no experience with the software but have today seen a painting that is extrememly similar
upon looking again the whole of the image could of been done in Painter
